September 15 kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month, a month-long celebration of the history and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities, and it’s also National Neonatal Nurses Day, recognizing the nurses who care for some of our tiniest and most vulnerable patients.

At first glance, those two things might not seem connected. But they are a good reminder of just how many different people, backgrounds, and specialties make up healthcare. Behind every title—nurse, pharmacist, social worker, physician, tech—is a person with a story and a reason they chose this field. So today, we’re celebrating the people who make healthcare what it is and the people who are helping shape what it will become!

💰 $3,200 Health Care Scholars United Scholarship
Deadline: Sept. 18
Up to 325 healthcare students can receive a $3,200 scholarship. It’s open to students pursuing healthcare degrees/certifications, with priority for areas including rural health, behavioral health, maternal health, primary care and pharmacy. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

💰 Prevounce Preventive Health Scholarship
Deadline: Oct. 16
Two scholarships are available: $1,000 for an undergraduate healthcare student and $3,000 for a graduate student pursuing medicine, nursing or public health. Applicants submit an essay, transcript and resume.
